Red Varsity Cardigans

The second, and I mean the second, I walk outside and feel that crisp fall air hit my face I go running to my cardigans. For me, a good cardigan marks the beginning of fall. For those that dread to see the end of summer, I’d recommend buying a cardigan. They’ll make getting dressed for cooler temperatures a little more exciting. I’m all for red varsity cardigans this season. I love the idea of red with various shades of brown and faded blue.

Puffy Vests

Imagine this - it’s mid-October, you’re standing outside; you’ve paired a fisherman sweater with a pair of Levis. The sun begins to set, and all of a sudden, your fisherman sweater is no longer keeping you warm. It’s not cold enough to put on a wool jacket, and a winter parka would be pushing it. So, it would be best if you had something in the middle. The answer? A puffy vest.

Patterned Cardigans

When I think of fall and winter I see tons of little floating printed cardigans. A printed cardigan is necessary for curing seasonal depression. It may not be the cure but it sure helps.

Wool Jackets

I’m a jacket enthusiast. I’m set to outfit a team of hunters in the ‘40s with my collection of wool jackets. In the summer, I find myself longing for the abundance of pockets. This winter pockets are going to be even more necessary than before. One pocket for your mask and one for hand sanitizer. For those looking to trade in your Barbour for an equally pocket heavy winter piece, look no further.

Welcome to Sustainably Sourced! I decided to take my favorite activity, vintage hunting (now limited to the web), and create a new column. I’ve invited my friends to curate selections of their saves.

I asked New York City-based art director Walker Tovin (@walkertovin) to share some of the vintage pieces he’s been eyeing.
