An Accidental Guide to Coziness

  • COLD WEATHER CROCHET! Wool crochet hats, balaclavas, and neck warmers all handmade in Brooklyn by my friend Delsy, the founder of Memorial Day. She has taken crochet to the next level with bright and colorful cold-weather pieces. There is nothing I love more than supporting a friend with a creative passion; show her some love and place a CUSTOM (yes, I said custom!)order through her DMs.

  • A DREAMY MOSS SWEATER! A good sweater can make the colder months more bearable. My greatest joy when it gets cold is opening the box of sweaters passed down from my grandmother. I believe the key to every fall/winter is to have one sweater that you LOVE. A sweater that makes getting dressed fun every day. This beautiful moss sweater from Wythe is truly timeless! (Read my interview with Wythe founder, Peter Middleton here!)

  • A HOODED DOWN JACKET *PULLOVER*! A literal dream of a jacket. Perfect for if you want to look like an adult but feel like a baby in a sleeping bag.

  • A SCULPTURAL IPHONE CASE! I saw this case the other day and couldn't quite understand my emotions. I require (or so I thought) a case that can easily fit in my pocket. When I saw this case, I immediately took back everything I had ever said about impractical cases. While this case may look "impractical" after a deeper dive into the brand, it became clear that maybe this IS a practical (dare I say the most practical) case (especially for WFH times). The case is the perfect angle for FaceTime (say goodbye to awkward makeshift stands) and "good for people who have to hold their phone for long periods of time."

  • HAND DRAWN SWEATPANTS! The other day while tapping through IG stories, I fell in love with a pair of sweatpants, my friend Quinn was wearing. I quickly sent a DM, eager to know the details. The sweatpants are hand-drawn by James Rich. Commissions are currently closed, but I'm excited to see the next project!

  • HAIR BOWS! When I was little, I loved wearing bows, and recently I've rekindled that love. A yard of velvet ribbon can add so much to an outfit (or distract from mask hair). I bought multiple different colors and sizes on Etsy, but if you're close to any craft store, they should have something similar. I really love Dusty Rose and Moss)

  • A DUVET DISGUISED AS A WRAP COAT! Working from home during the winter offers a whole new opportunity for cozy outfits. This Off Hours home coat is the ideal winter purchase. All the color options are lovely ~ Memphis (which appears to be light pink) is by far my favorite.

  • SHEARLING HUGS FOR YOUR FEET! I bought a pair of Mini Uggs a month ago and am 100% convinced I don't need to buy another pair of shoes until summer. I, shamelessly, used to wear Uggs (in middle school, duh) and boycotted them quickly after (although I will admit, I did wear them in the house for years). You can get Uggs from practically anywhere, but may I suggest buying them from your local shoe store, let's support small businesses (Atlanta people call Abbadabba's)!

The photos above belong to each brand mentioned :)
